When do I need the driver's license?

Your theory exam takes approximately 20 – 30 minutes. – You will immediately receive the
results afterwards.

How many questions do I get during the car theory exam?

The theory exam consists of two parts. 1. Hazard perception. You will receive 25 questions
about hazard perception. You have 8 seconds to answer a question. This may seem short,
but later on you often have to decide even faster! You must get 13 questions or more
correct from Hazard Recognition. 2. Traffic rules and traffic insight. You will receive 30
questions about Traffic Rules and 10 questions about Traffic Insight. You must get 35 or
more correct questions from Traffic Rules and Traffic Insight.

What are the costs of the car theory exam?

How can I book the theory exam?

Motor

When do I need a motorcycle license?

Driving license A1 from the age of eighteen you can take the theory and practical exam for
category A1. With this driving license category you can drive a motorcycle of a maximum of
125 cc, a maximum power of 11 kW and a maximum of 0.1 kW per kilo of empty weight. You
can also use it to drive a motorcycle with full electric drive, provided it has a maximum
power of 11 kW and less than 0.1 kW per kilo of empty weight. Finally, you can drive a
motorized tricycle with a maximum of 15 kW. Driving license A2 You can only obtain a
driving license category A2 if you have held a driving license A1 for at least 2 years. This
category can therefore be achieved from the age of 20 years. You have to take a practical
exam for this. You may drive a motorcycle with a maximum power of 35 kW and a maximum
of 0.2 kW per kilogram of empty weight with the driving license category A2. The motorcycle
may also not be derived from a vehicle with more than double the power. Driving license A
This driving license category can be obtained if you have held a driving license A2 for at least
2 years. You still have to take a practical exam for driving license category A. The category is
therefore not obtained automatically. If you only start driving lessons at the age of 24, you
can immediately pass this category. You must then take both a theoretical and a practical
exam. Even if you are only in possession of a driving license A1 or have not yet been in
possession of an A2 for two years, you can take an exam for driving license category A from
the age of 24. With this driving license category you can drive a motorcycle with unlimited
power, but also a motorized one. Tricycle with more than 15 kW.

MOPED

When do I need a moped or scooter driving license?

You can take the theory exam from 15.5 years. From the age of 16 you can take driving
lessons and take a practical exam, but you must first take a theory exam. If you have passed,
you can take driving lessons at a driving school. You will receive your driver's license as soon
as you successfully pass a practical exam at the CBR. You do not need a separate moped
driving license with a valid Dutch car license (category B) or motorcycle license (category A).
You do not have to take exams.

TRUCK

When do I need a truck driver's license?

You need a driving license C if you want to drive a motor vehicle of which the maximum
permissible mass (see Part 1A Vehicle Certificate or Vehicle Registration Certificate Part I) is
more than 3500 kg. A minimum age of 18 years applies for this category. This minimum age
only applies if the driving license is obtained in combination with code 95. Without code 95,
the minimum age for the C driving license is 21 years. The validity of the driving license is five
years.

This driving license category allows you to drive motor vehicles intended for passenger

authorized mass of 750 kg. From the age of 24, an exam may be taken for this category or
from the age of 21 if it concerns your professional competence. This category is valid for 5
years (including medical examination) and you must be in possession of a driving license B.

get to wide water such as the Oosterschelde, IJsselmeer or Wadden, then you will suffice
with the Small Boat License-1 (VB-1). The Small Sailing License 1 is combined with the
International Sailing License (ICC) inland waters. This allows you to sail on inland waterways
abroad.

1 and boating license 2 on 1 day. The Small Sailing License 2 is combined with the
